Dr. JoAnna Pendergrass attended Hampton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She later completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in drug addiction at Emory University.
