Kathryn Heigel-Meyer, DVM

Dr. Kathryn Heigel-Meyer is a small animal veterinarian who has primarily worked in shelter medicine helping cats, dogs and other small critters find their forever home. She also loves to teach not only pet parents but future generations of animal health heroes. In her spare time, she loves to go camping and hiking.

Experience

After earning her veterinary degree in 2007, Dr. Heigel-Meyer worked in private veterinary practice for several years in central Illinois while also helping several feline rescue groups. In 2014, she began working at a shelter, providing medical and preventative care to the animals. Additionally, Dr. Heigel-Meyer provides the public with affordable vaccinations and wellness care through the A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelters Low Cost Vaccine Clinic. 

Education

Dr. Heigel-Meyer earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
