Liz McCalley, DVM, CCRT

Dr. Liz McCalley is a veterinarian focusing on concierge general practice and rehabilitation. She is the owner and founder of ZumiVet, a mobile veterinary practice in San Diego. Dr. McCalley is passionate about Fear Free medicine, in-home veterinary care, preventative medicine and educating her clients on how to best keep their pets healthy. She lives by the beach with Radar, her giant-eared rescue dog, and spends most of her free time cleaning sand out of his ears.

Experience

After vet school, Dr. McCalley gained extensive experience working in corporate veterinary medicine before transitioning to private practice, where she became the medical director of a boutique pet clinic in Coronado, California. There, she earned AAHA accreditation for the clinic and became Fear Free™ certified, solidifying her commitment to excellence and compassionate, high-quality pet care. She now regularly develops pet content as a freelance medical writer while also serving as the owner of ZumiVet, a San Diego based mobile veterinary service.

Education

As an undergraduate, Dr. McCalley attended Cornell University, where she earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Animal Science. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Texas A&M University.
